Restoring Power in Ukraine, Under Fire

After Russian drone strikes hit the control panels of major generators at thermal, hydro, and nuclear power stations, Gridradix specialists were called in to bring critical units back online — fast. The challenge went beyond the damage itself: Ukraine's grid runs in places on equipment from the 1960s, and in some cases on generators built before World War II — machinery never meant to interface with any modern control system. Rather than wait for replacement hardware that didn't exist, the team built small, low-cost control cabinets on-site around cheap binary-I/O terminals, wired them directly into the salvaged — sometimes scorched — original cabling, and brought the old units back under full control, deployable anywhere the cable run was still intact.
